Study of the Film Noir genre
Film Noir, or "Film black" was a genre created by French film critic 'Nino Frank' in 1946. The stereotypical Film Noir consists of usually a private detective who has gone rogue and works for clients that hire or ask him for help. They also have a 'Femme Fatale' or better knows as i damsel in distress, except sometimes, this can have a twist as the protagonist can be lured in like 'a spider lures a fly into its web' as it is commonly associated with. Film Noir's have as minimal lighting as possible and sport a black and white setting which gives the audience the feel of the time of the film it is meant to be set in. Film Noir may be best described as a feeling through the visual of low key lighting and also some visual effects that are due to the low budget nature of these films. They also follow 'Hay's code' which also limits the films.Film Noir's were extremely popular in the early 19th century as that is when they came into light as they were something different
